Custom Cataract Surgery

Cataract surgery is one of the most common and most successful operations today. And with that success, patient expectations have grown as well. Meeting these increased expectations is where custom cataract surgery comes in.

The first step of custom surgery is talking to our patients, our customers, to find out what trouble they are having with their vision, and what their expectations are with cataract surgery. If we define successful surgery as meeting or exceeding expectations, this discussion is the necessary key to success. The issues that we consider include current vision problems (nighttime glare, trouble reading), the patient's need for optical correction (nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism, need for reading glasses), and the patient's expectations for their vision after surgery. This evaluation is supplemented with additional, in-office testing beyond what is required for routine cataract surgery to fully understand our patient's visual system.

With custom cataract surgery, we consider the patient's current condition and their visual expectations so that we can design a surgical plan to best meet their needs. Whether we choose to perform surgery on one eye or both, the type of lens implants, additional procedures to address astigmatism, and even the type of surgical incision can all have a significant impact on visual outcomes.

You expect the best, and we work hard to meet your expectations.
