Eric A. Adams, MD

Dr. Eric A. Adams attended the University of Notre Dame where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Pre-Medical Studies in 1987. His medical school education was at the University of Alabama, and he graduated in 1991. After a general internship at Crozer-Chester Medical Center near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he went on to the University of Pittsburgh for his ophthalmology residency. He finished his formal training there in 1995. Since then he has been in private practice with Medical & Surgical Eye Specialists.

Dr. Adams is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, and he was most recently recertified on January 1, 2008. The American Board of Ophthalmology has set rigorous requirements for recertification, including ongoing medical education, mandatory review of patient care, and testing to demonstrate knowledge in the field of ophthalmology.

He is also a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Virginia Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, and the Medical Society of Virginia. Dr. Adams is on the community faculty for the Department of Ophthalmology at Eastern Virginia Medical School.

He currently resides in Norfolk. He is married and has two daughters.
